Summary[]

Mitsurugi and Kariya decide to stop playing, so they convince Rokudo and Ippei to step away. They refuse to search for the Jack of Hearts and decide to live out their days in peace. Despite the idea working for one round, it is quickly interrupted by Yaba, who traps Mitsurugi and then Kariya in a cell, sealing their fate. Seeing how more people keep dying, Ippei gives up and chooses not to tell Rokudo his symbol, as well as not declare his own, which leads to the elimination of all four of them by the end of the round.

Matsushita is revealed to be the mastermind behind the game creation, who has been manipulating Kotoko since the second round, hypnotizing her into trusting him over Yaba and forcing her to kill him. Matsushita's manipulation works, and Kotoko lies to Yaba about his symbol, trusting Matsushita's wrong answer which leads to her elimination. Matsushita himself lies to his own partner, Banda, expecting to get rid of all three by the end of the round and feeling completely safe due to his artificial eye that displays the same symbol as his collar. However, he is unaware of the secret alliance between Yaba and Banda that saves them both, allowing them to discover that Matsushita is the Jack of Hearts. Willing to learn more about Borderland, they torture him for answers, and he decides to end his own life by declaring a wrong symbol in order to stop the suffering.

Meanwhile, Doudou barely escapes the attack by the King of Spades, who eliminates over eighteen players in one go, and encounters Morizono Aguni. They attempt to set a trap for the King in order to defeat him, while Aguni is tormented by the illusion of his late friend, Takeru Danma.
