The "Kick the Can" (かんけり, Kankeri) is a game featured in Episode 4 (Season 3) of Alice in Borderland.
Players have to kick the can and then return it to the original spot. The game is introduced as a semi-final challenge, and completing the game allows the participants to proceed into the final stage of the Joker Tournament.
Overview[]
Set-Up[]
- Location: Shopping mall
- Player Limit: None for participation, but only ten players are able to clear the game
- Time Limit: Unlimited to find a can, 60 seconds until the can explodes, ten cans total
Rules[]
- Players have to kick the can that is located in the middle of the hall. There are a total of ten cans.
- Before the time runs out, players have to return the can to its original starting spot and insert it into its base.
- Each can contains a time bomb. The countdown on the time bomb begins the moment someone picks up the can and holds it. The moment they release the can, the timer resets and a new countdown begins. Every time the owner of the can changes, the time limit decreases by five seconds. Cans explode if they are subject to intense impact.
- Players who have cleared the game have to wait in the elevator until the game concludes.
- It is GAME CLEAR if the player returns a can to its base.
- It is GAME OVER if the player follows a blocked path and walks past the notice forbidding passage.
- It is GAME OVER if the player explodes.
- It is GAME OVER if the player does not return a can to the base after ten rounds.
Details[]
Escalators do not work, doors are locked, and certain paths are blocked. Since returning a can to its base is the condition for winning, and there are only ten cans, it means only ten people have the chance to clear the game. Additionally, there are several fake cans that can be used to distract other players.
Strategy[]
- Teaming up with other players and passing on the can between each other helps to ensure that at least one of the team members manages to deliver the can to the initial spot.
- Tricking other players with fake cans can be useful when being pursued.
- Players may also attempt to hide the bomb to prevent others from taking it.
- Players could stay near the base to take the can from other participants.
