Jack of Spades (Netflix)

The Jack of Spades (スペードのジャック, Supēdo no Jakku), also known as "Champion" (ちゃんぴおん, Chanpion)^[1], is a game featured in Episode 5 of Alice in Borderland.

As a Spades challenge, the game tests players' physical strength, endurance, and dexterity. Due to its higher difficulty level, the Jack of Spades also requires combat proficiency.

Rules[]

Players have to defend themselves against the Jack of Spades and his crew in a physical brawl.
It is GAME CLEAR if the player successfully defeats the Jack of Spades.
It is GAME OVER if the player dies or succumbs to their wounds.

Details[]

Inside the dōjō hall is an empty, elliptical space with wooden floors and wooden bars on the walls. The hall is dark, except for a few ceiling lights that illuminate the center of the venue. Weapons such as pipes, machetes, and knives are used by the game participants.

The game is depicted as a battle royale type of challenge, where the last one standing is the winner, and the name "Champion" suggests the same idea. Multiple people can be seen defeated on the floor, and Kuina is forced to fight several male opponents at the same time. The victory results in deep cuts around her arms, and Kuina comments on the game being brutal, so completing it alone is incredibly difficult.

The game venue takes place inside the Sixth Floor Exhibition Hallway at GRANSHIP Convention & Arts Center, which is located in the Shizuoka Prefecture.^{[citation needed]}
