Alice in Borderland Wiki

Himari (ヒマリ, Himari) is a minor character in Season 3 of Alice in Borderland. She is part of Usagi's Team. She is portrayed by Rinako Isobe.

Appearance[]

Himari is a young woman with long, curly hair. She wears a loose black sweater, white trousers, and sneakers. When moving between the game venues, she carries a backpack.

Personality[]

Himari is a shy and kind individual who easily gives in to panic but never lashes out at others or blames them for wrong choices. She is courageous enough to make decisions that ensure survival, although it is not always easy for her to overcome her fear. When in the presence of a small friend group, she becomes more joyful and straightforward, unafraid to speak her mind.

History[]

Same as the other participants of the Joker Tournament, Himari had played the games before, making her Sojourn in Season 3 a return to the Borderland rather than her first visit. However, the games she experienced in the past were not the same ones faced by Arisu and his group. Since Borderland games are created and overseen by individual Citizens, their scale, rules, and format vary depending on who hosts them. Therefore, Himari's earlier participation took place under different Citizens, resulting in a distinct set of challenges.

Story[]

Himari first appears during the game with lasers. She participates alongside her friend Juri and witnesses the first body cut through by a laser flying towards them at high speed. Both girls survive and move to the next game with Usagi and Ryuji.

On the way to another venue, Himari wonders whether Usagi is a pro athlete based on her moves in the game, but Usagi denies it. Then Juri proceeds to talk about the surname, and Himari realizes that Usagi's father was all over the news a couple of years ago due to lying about a climb and then taking his own life. The girls quickly notice that Usagi might not be happy to hear their conversation, so they awkwardly move further away.

The next game they join is the "Runaway Train". Himari does not participate in making major decisions, but she is often seen panicking while following Usagi's or Ryuji's lead. Taro's strategy ends up being wrong, and Himari's anxiety intensifies. The players are forced to take a risk, which results in a wasted canister with a neutralizing agent.

Juri is quick to yell at Usagi for her decision, but Himari calms her down. Then Usagi suggests jumping over to another train, and Himari is one of the players who support her, while Juri is left behind and her fate is sealed. Himari survives, and the players find a safe place to spend the night.

The next game they participate in is the semi-final game, "Tokyo Bingo Tower". Himari climbs the tower alongside the others but becomes trapped and paralyzed with fear. Usagi moves towards her in an attempt to save her and grabs her hand. Himari cautiously walks towards Usagi, but the balls meant to knock the players down start falling from the top, and Himari is struck by them. She hits her head on a lattice beam and begins falling, then grabs another one and screams. Usagi tries to pull her up, but their hands slip, so Himari falls and dies.
