The Four of Clubs (クラブの4, Kurabu no Yon), named Distance (ディスタンス, Disutansu), was the fourth game to be completed in the series, done so by Ryohei Arisu, Yuzuha Usagi, and Takuma. Like the Three of Clubs, the game was so drastically changed that listing differences would be redundant, but the two biggest changes are the omission of the separate trials and the inclusion of Arisu and Usagi.

Game Overview[]

Setup[]

  • Location: Unnamed highway tunnel
  • Player Limit: none
  • Time Limit: two hours (120 minutes)
  • Starting Condition: Players start in a bus.

Rules[]

  • It is GAME CLEAR when the player reaches the goal within the time limit.
  • It is GAME OVER when the player fails to reach the goal within the time limit or dies along the way.
  • Phones provide a counter showing the distance from the goal, though it is unclear whether this is in metres, feet or steps.

Details[]

Players must run down the tunnel to reach the end, and there are various dangers along the way.

After a distance of 5000, there is a replenishment station containing water bottles. However, it is unclear whether the water is safe or not as the players did not drink it.

After a distance of 7000, the tunnel is congested with cars. There is an aggressive black panther that will attack the players.

The end of the tunnel is blocked off by a wall. It is assumed that this is the end goal, but with five minutes left on the timer, the wall will break and water will flood the tunnel.

Solution[]

The Bus (at the start of the tunnel) was the GOAL the entire time. In fact, even the spraypaint on the bus gave the answer away.

It was said that the bus was extremely durable and there was a heater.

There was no running needed, it was only required to stay in the bus for 2 hours.

Strategies[]

  • If the players missed the hint that the bus was the end goal, they are free to use vehicles instead of running, as doing so is not prohibited by the rules. Vehicles such as a diesel-operated bus are non-digital machines and still work in this universe. However, they may have to provide their own fuel.
  • Players can use tools they find to ward off the panther. Usagi used a flare to scare the panther away momentarily, giving her a little time to escape, and Seizan killed the panther using a knife, but not before he was lethally hurt.

Participants[]

Participant Result
Ryōhei Arisu CLEAR Reached the end goal in time.
Yuzuha Usagi CLEAR Reached the end goal in time.
Takuma CLEAR Stayed in the end goal the whole game.
Yamane GAME OVER Drowned in the flood.
Seizan GAME OVER Mauled to death by the panther.

Trivia[]

  • The twist is hinted at by the card the game is given. Running through the tunnel is a physical challenge that would have been a Spades game, but it is instead given a Clubs card. This implies that it is, in reality, not a physical challenge, instead relying on teamwork to win.
