Overview[]

Summary[]

Ryohei Arisu, Yuzuha Usagi, Hikari Kuina and Kodai Tatta escape the gunfire from King of Spades towards the venue of the King of Clubs.

Located at what looks like a container terminal, Arisu and the other three approach the game venue. At the entrance, the sign reads that the game will only start after five players put on the provided bracelets for the game. Arisu and team manage to participate, although unwillingly, after Suguru Niragi makes an unexpected appearance and puts on one of the bracelets. The gates unlocked and the players entered the hallway leading to the game venue. While walking, metallic objects players had on their body started reacting, forcing them to remove all weapons and jewelry prior to arriving at the game venue.

Arisu and the gang finally arrive at the game venue which looks like a maze made up of shipping containers of various sizes. There, they come face-to-face with another team of five consisting of Ginji Kyuma, the King of Clubs, and four other comrades.

Kyuma proceeds to explain the game of Osmosis at K♣ difficulty, which is a team 5 versus 5 battle whereby the losing team dies. Going by a point system, each team starts with 10,000 points which they can distribute among each other as they wish with a minimum of 100 points per person. The team then has to try to gain as many points as possible from the opposing team within two hours. At the end of the game, the team with the lesser points is deemed the loser.

The teams disperse to their respective bases. Arisu attempts to extract information from Kyūma about who he is and about the nature of the Borderlands. However, Kyūma only encourages Arisu to participate in the game to learn more about who the King of Clubs really is. The chapter ends with team Arisu entering the discussion of how the points should be distributed.
