The Face Cards are the 12 games available to the surviving players/dealers upon the start of the Second Stage, where the former must compete against and kill all the Borderland citizens in the hardest games yet.
There are several differences between the face card games and pip card games. The first are the differences in how they’re identified. Unlike the numbered games, the card of the game is labeled on massive cards hung by blimps that fly over the respective venue. This way, players can identify what game they’re going into. Another change is that games can be initiated at any time, not just during a short registration period after sunset. Clearing a face card game still rewards its respective visa days, as the visa system is still in effect during the Second Stage.
Another notable differences in the face cards is that they involve competing against the Borderlands citizens. This is one factor that makes them beyond difficult. And unlike the numbered cards, almost all face card games have very strict entry requirements, including explicit player quotas, disallowance of bringing certain objects into the venue, and equipment which must be worn prior to the game starting.
