"Nine of Hearts, Part 7" (ハートの 9 パート 7, Hāto no 9, Pāto 7) is the second chapter of the second volume and the seventh chapter overall of the Alice in Borderland RETRY manga, written and illustrated by Haro Aso.
Summary[]
Onoue's past as an emergency nurse is shown in slightly more detail. She attempted to reassure a patient whose wife went into a coma and remained unresponsive. She told him to hold his wife's hand and talk to her, because she could still hear his voice and feel his presence. The man burst into tears realizing that he could not fulfil his wife's dream, but Onoue encouraged him to continue being by his wife's side. The woman woke up for a moment to thank her husband, who, in turn, thanked Onoue for her kindness.
Back in the Nine of Hearts game, Himari, devastated by her father's death and enraged after learning that Kitou's cheating caused Taiga to stab Yuzuru, shows Kitou her phone as a proof of having given him her "DEATH" card and claims that she wishes him to die. Arisu and Kitou still have their "DEATH" cards on their phones, while Himari and Onoue do not, and each player has three "LIFE" cards remaining to give. Kitou accepts his fate and agrees to be the drop-out of the round, since he is at fault for what happened, but Onoue instantly transfers her "LIFE" card to him, nullifying Himari's "DEATH" card. She explains her life philosophy after doing so, and Kitou decides to give his "LIFE" card to her. Himari feels displeased with such a decision, so she promises not to give her "LIFE" card to anyone, since she does not care about letting anyone live. Arisu gets scared, because Himari is the only one who can help him survive, since the other two have already exchanged their cards. He is forced to reveal why he has to survive and return to the real world no matter what.
