Alice in Borderland Wiki

"Nine of Hearts, Part 12" (ハートの 9 パート 12, Hāto no 9, Pāto 12) is the seventh chapter of the second volume and the 12th chapter overall of the Alice in Borderland RETRY manga, written and illustrated by Haro Aso.

Summary[]

The chapter begins with a flashback of Arisu and Usagi trying to come up with a name for their unborn baby. Arisu tried to think of a name that could fit either sex and asked Usagi not to tell him whether they were having a boy or a girl until the moment he saw their child.

Back in the game, Kitou mocks Arisu's happy face, asking whether he has no regrets, and Arisu starts crying. He claims to have multiple things he has not done yet, a lot of wishes, expectations, and hopes. He wants to hold his baby and spend time with his wife, however, life is not always the way people want it to be. According to Arisu, his life has always been tough, and he has a lot of regrets, but he likes his life and accepts that he cannot undo what happened to the people who lost their lives in the game. Tears roll down Kitou's cheeks, as he realizes that he has made huge mistakes and betrayed Onoue, who always respected him and stayed by his side. He decides to follow Arisu's plan, so he gives "LIFE" cards to both Himari and Arisu, using the corpse's phone, and transfers his own "DEATH" card to it. That way, the corpse receives GAME OVER, and all the remaining players can proceed to the last room with having only one "LIFE" card each.

Arisu wonders why Kitou did not give him a "DEATH" card earlier, since it would have been a more clear win for him, but Kitou admits that he hesitated to take another person's life. Wondering whether the shelter can truly hold two people, Kitou insists on letting Arisu unlock the entrance first. Seeing that the door has unlocked twice, Himari happily exclaims that it is true and everyone can survive. They all go in, and an alien invasion begins.

Hall 6, the last room to clear, contains a replica of Tokyo. There are two shelters with a readable wording on the walls, "Capacity: 3 people".
